Job Description:

This position is responsible for the development of managed care-related products. This process includes fostering relationships with potential public and private contractors, coordinating market research, environmental assessments and industry trend analyses; conducting needs assessments, internal capabilities assessments; and assessment of potential partner relationships; completion of position papers, feasibility studies, and coordination with implementation plan development by other organizational functions. Position is responsible for assisting in the development of new business plans with a positive rate of return on investment for iCare.

  1. Initiate meetings with potential contractors, stakeholders, business partners, and vendors to foster partnerships necessary for new product development.
  2. Develop relationships with local, state, and federal regulators, stakeholders and publics that lead to new contracts and business opportunities. Make recommendations that incorporate identified community and marketplace needs and new managed care products that meet marketplace needs.
  3. Lead business development teams to assist all iCare functional areas in identifying relationships among providers, administrative services vendors, business partners and internal departments necessary for new managed care products.
  4. Identify opportunities for business expansion in Wisconsin and other states. Lead efforts to expand service areas, develop new geographic markets and obtain necessary regulatory approvals
  5. Research and analyze secondary information related to potential new managed care products or enhancements to existing product lines.
  6. Develop and implement market research studies, consumer preference tests and other assessments of marketplace preference for proposed and existing product designs.
  7. Participate in strategic management discussions related to iCare’s business growth.
  8. Provide data to Finance department for the development and implementation of pricing strategies, financial proforma, and risk models.
  9. Provide ongoing management of key vendor relationships.
  10. Develop processes and reports that provide information to CEO on new product development. Showcase new product innovations to stakeholders and thought leaders on both a local and national basis.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in business, health services administration, or public administration, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  2. 5-7 years of experience in managed care product development. Medicaid, Medicare Advantage and Managed Long-Term Care experience is a plus.
  3. Business experience in the development of new managed care products and business models.
  4. Knowledge of:
    • Government-sponsored healthcare programs;
    • Product line planning and project management;
    • Market research, financial proforma development, cost-benefit analysis development, and other analytical processed related to new product environment.
