Job Description:

The Community Sales Representative is responsible for growing consumer inquiry opportunities for iCare’s government plans. You will work to educate key partners and community advocates about the government programs available at iCare. You will build long-term relationships that help establish iCare as a leader of government programs in the managed care market. This position will interact with individuals at various sites throughout the iCare service area. The Community Sales Representative conducts all activities in an ethical and responsible manner, and complies with all DHS and other applicable laws and regulatory guidelines.

  1. Interact with eligible individuals throughout the community.
  2. Spends time in the field working with key providers, local government agencies, community leaders, community based organizations, and others serving the Medicaid population.
  3. Attends community events and health fairs to promote product education and awareness.
  4. Perform community marketing and outreach to promote iCare in the community.
  5. Enters inquires and applicant information into a database and maintain accurate records for reporting purposes.
  6. Supports and demonstrates a customer service commitment to internal and external customers.
  7. Understands how applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures impact specific job responsibilities and functions. Demonstrates actions to reasonably prevent, detect, and report unethical and unlawful business practices.
  8. Is fiscally responsible and is in accordance with department policies and procedures regarding business practices.
  9. Meet monthly outreach and retention targets.

Experience and Skills:

  1. Minimum two-year Associates Degree in related field or equivalent in experience.
  2. 1+ years’ experience in a direct sales, social service, community or customer service position.
  3. Travel within iCare’s service area throughout the State up to 100% of the time.
  4. Must possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation. Proof of adequate automobile insurance is required.
  5. Knowledge of health insurance and marketing processes with Medicaid product experience desirable.
  6. Cultural sensitivity to the Medicaid population.
  7. Ability to work independently under general instructions and with a team.
  8. Excellent oral communication skills.
  9. Proficiency with computer software packages including Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet Applications and Outlook.
  10. Prior experience making group presentations is desirable.
  11. Bilingual capabilities in Spanish or Hmong are desirable.
