Job Description:

This management position is responsible for iCare’s Network Development strategy.

  1. Lead development of a strategic plan to meet iCare provider network business objectives, including the development and ongoing evaluation of the quality and adequacy of that network.

  2. Represent, communicate and advocate the iCare mission to current and/or prospective participants in the iCare provider network to ensure delivery of quality care for poor, elderly and underserved members of the community, most with chronic disabilities.

  3. Recognize opportunities (including programmatic methods, techniques, supports, etc.) for iCare to add value in its relationship with providers that improve their satisfaction with iCare affiliation and the effectiveness of the iCare plan.

  4. Design solutions that enable iCare and providers to align their efforts to achieve mutually beneficial performance (HEDIS, HOS, CAHPS, Meaningful-Use, etc.) and/or "care-under-management" outcomes.

  5. Transmit to providers through contractual, instructional, and educational materials and instruments (e.g., contract templates, provider manual, presentations, alerts, report cards, etc.) responsibilities, commitments, and methods for achieving quality performance requirements.

  6. Build and maintain positive working relationships with iCare’s current and prospective provider community to protect and enhance iCare’s goodwill.

  7. Develop providers for new member-centric services, treatments, and programs (perhaps with "in-lieu-of" status) as may be required and defined by care coordination staff, interdisciplinary teams and/or other iCare planners, even when these supports are not currently available in the community.

  8. Review, analyze and recommend further provider network development or adjustment whenever these changes might result in a sustained competitive advantage for the company.

  9. Assist with the expansion and diversification of iCare lines of business within existing and new market areas as such expansion plans are approved by the iCare Board of Directors.

  10. Assume project management leadership in all instances that involve development of the iCare provider network for acute, chronic and long term care, including educating provider participants at various levels within this network.

  11. Ensure that the iCare provider network meets the compliance standards that are contained in iCare’s contracts with State and Federal governments.

Experience and Skills:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration or related field.

  2. Understanding of the insurance industry, especially Medicaid and Medicare lines of business.

  3. Highly developed business and enterprise management skills.

  4. Detailed understanding and experience of strategic planning, project management, financial analysis and managed care principles.

  5. 5+ years of provider contracting and network development experience in a managed care or insurance environment.

  6. 3-5 years experience in managing, directing and supervising a provider relations staff.

  7. Demonstrated experience in promoting positive business relationships, both internal and external to the business.
